Minto United Cannot Proceed to 2019
Submitted By Robin Ross on Monday, August 6, 2018
Vacant executive and committee positions need to be filled by the end of the AGM on August 9th, 2018 for the club to proceed past that point.

We are a new club with over 100 players enjoying the game of soccer close to home.  The work that is needed each year has been divided into different positions to limit the amount of time each person is required to put in each year and make our volunteer commitment reasonable.  Contact any executive about the open positions.

As President, I have spent more than 200 hours completing the tasks necessary for Minto United to make it through the 2018 season.  This included attending NPSL meetings, meeting Minto's executive requirements on NPSL as treasurer for the league, updating the website, running registration, dividing teams, adding late registrations searching for referees, scheduling referees, actually refereeing a game, recruiting executives, sorting all equipment, handing out all equipment, ordering new equipment, contacting the photographer, gathering money from photos, distributing photos, recruiting coaches, assisting coaches, dealing with parent and coaching concerns, coaching U8 and running the U12 division of the year end tournament.

I know every job that needs to be done in order for Minto United to continue into 2019 and the open positions were created in order for the executive responsibilities and time commitment to be sustainable.

The current executive format is not sustainable.  We have over 100 players in the Minto United Soccer Club and at the start of the year we had three executive.  We have four executive committed to working on the 2019 season but we cannot meet the demands of the club without the other positions being filled.  All positions that are vacant are critical to the club continuing and there are several so that no one person is required to do an unreasonable amount of work.

In 2018, we accomplished a lot in creating a club that is easier to maintain.  To start we switched to online registration which saved a lot of time and put money right into our account.  It will be even better next year now that we know what other features we need available.  We have a detailed list of equipment that we have and what we need for next year after a detailed inventory of the locker.  Our financials are up to date back to when Minto United was formed.  SWRSA is to date on our contacts and player registrations.  With the new positions filled, Minto United will be a club that is easier to maintain each year.
